Jean-Philippe Harvey is the Principal Consultant & Director of Selat Maritime Services — an independent maritime consulting and support firm established in Malaysia and operating across Southeast Asia.

He brings over 25 years of senior federal maritime and defence advisory experience in Canada, spanning operational roles across some of the most demanding and complex maritime environments in the world. His career has taken him from specialised defence and security advisory at the federal level to senior maritime operations management — consistently operating with a level of responsibility and institutional reach that extended well beyond his formal designation.

His formal training spans programmes developed and delivered in partnership with recognised industry bodies — including the Shipping Federation of Canada, the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), and the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) framework.
